ON Semiconductor Acquires SANYO Semiconductor
ON Semiconductor Corporation has acquired SANYO Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and other assets related to semiconductor business of SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. for a purchase price of approximately $522 million.
ON Semiconductor is a US-based supplier of silicon solutions for green electronics. SANYO Semiconductor is the semiconductor unit of SANYO Electric, a manufacturer and seller of a range of electrical products for domestic and industrial applications. Both SANYO Semiconductor and SANYO Electric are based in Japan.
