ON Semiconductor Reopens Two Plants in Japan
Two previously closed wafer-fabrication plants were reopened following restoration of power and other services in Japan. ON, based in Phoenix, is one of a handful of local companies hit hardest by the devastation in Japan following a March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Production began ramping up toward full recovery at a fab ON owns in Aizu, as well as at one operated by Sanyo Semiconductor in Gunma.
